what an absolutely engaging and articulate young lady. wow! how nice to hear her speak. Thoughtful. Now - for sure she is more than one swim and more than swimming and how mature of her to state her path and understanding. BUT she is the Olympic Champion. Hope that she understands that her name is in the record books and in the Olympics she won the gold medal..only one person in the world, on that day received a gold medal for the 100 breaststroke. 8.1 billion people on the planet and SHE got the gold! No one else... and I would never hi jack anyones experiences....but Lydia much, much respect. There’s absolutely no harm in attempting the 200 Breast. She’s worked hard and her support has worked hard. Doing the 200 breast would help discern if her taper was effective or if her slow turn at the 50 mark for the 100 was the real cause. She was chasing down both Weber and king in the back half and had there been another few strokes she’d be a Paris qualifier. (Bad coaching letting her scratch). Losing a lot of respect if the athlete doesn’t even try
